Ayesha Ali, The Council general of Pakistan in NY, wrote a letter to Pakistani community, and stated that as COVID-19 continues to pose a serious challenge to all. New York and New Jersey among the hardest hit states affecting thousands of people so far.
According to her, On her personal behalf and behalf of the Consulate General of Pakistan, New York, offer our deepest condolences to all those who have lost their loved ones to COVID-19. Our Pakistani American community particularly impacted in Long Island, Brooklyn and Queens. She pray for all the families who are going through the most difficult time in their lives dealing with the loss of their family members and friends. She also preys for the speedy recovery of all who are affected by this disease. May Allah grant them a speedy recovery.
While we deal with the situation arising out of COVID-19, I would again urge you to follow all the guidelines issued by the authorities to keep yourselves and your families safe and healthy. Please follow the stay at home guidelines for your own safety and the safety of your communities.
She wrote in a letter that, I also take the opportunity to recognize and appreciate the indomitable spirit of our community members leads in providing relief and lending a helping hand. Several Pakistani-American organizations are helping and assisting their local governments and their communities. They are doing an amazing job which is highly commendable.
She added that Consulate General of Pakistan, New York continues to provide essential services to the community online. Our emergency hotline is available 24/7. We are also helping our stranded Pakistani brothers and sisters and striving to ensure their return to Pakistan at the earliest. Council general thank all the individuals and organizations who have made generous donations to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund for COVID-19. She urges you to continue your efforts in this context.
