DUBAI: Courtesy of Shane Watson and Kevin Pietersen’s power show, Quetta beat Karachi by 67 runs in the 19th game of the HBL PSL 2018 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, UAE.
In reply to Quetta’s mammoth 181-run target, Karachi could only manage 114 runs with a loss of 8 wickets.
No batsmen but captain Imad Waseem (35) and Babar Azam (32) and Rizwan could stay at the crease longer.
With this emphatic win, Quetta has jumped up two placed to gain the 3rd spot in the Leaders’ Board.
Earlier, Karachi skipper Imad Waseem asked Quetta to bat first after winning the toss.
The decision was warmly welcomed by Quetta Gladiators as they took a quick start of the inning.
They lost Asad Shafiq (16) on the last ball of the sixth over.
Pietersen was the next to return to the pavilion after he was brilliantly caught by Ravi Bopara at mid-wicket area on the ball of Usman Khan Shinwari. The top-order batsman scored 52 off 34 balls.
