LAHORE: The affectees of 2015 Kasur video scandal, on not winning justice reached Liberty Square of Lahore in protest.
The children who were the victims of this scandal kept their faces covered during the protest.
Parents and other family members of the victims were also present there.
The protestors urged Chief Justice Saqib Nisar to take notice of the Kasur video scandal.
The lawyer community was also present to show the solidarity with abuse victims.
It is worth mentioning here that Kasur was all over international media in August 2015 when the case of massive commercialisation of illicit videos of child abuse hit the headlines.
Preliminary investigations had revealed that around 400 abusive videos were made of 280 minors by the gang of over 25 criminals.
Several parents of victims were consistently blackmailed and coerced to pay hundreds of thousands of rupees as they were threatened that the gang would release more videos in public.
Critics say that it was the social society who stood by this incident of Zainab’s rape and murder case.
Otherwise, like most of the other such criminal cases, this incident of 7years old girl would have remained unnoticed and ignored leaving the victim to carry a lifetime scar.
According to figure available in Punjab province alone, over the past four years, 12,000 such cases of child abuse were reported and only 100 of the perpetrators convicted.
