WASHINGTON: The United States has announced a $5 million head money on chief of banned outfit Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Mullah Fazlullah.
This was announced in a statement released by the US State Department late on Thursday.
The statement offered a reward worth USD 5 million on providing information about the whereabouts of the TTP chief.
The statement also announced a reward of USD 3 million on the information regarding the commander of banned outfit Jamat-ul-Ahrar Abdul Wali and Lashkar-e-Islam chief Mangal Bagh.
The State Department further stated that the TTP had established an alliance with the international terrorist outfit Al-Qaeda. It added that these three militants were a threat to the security of the US.
The US authorities divulged that the TTP provided training to Faisal Shahzad to prepare bomb-making material. Shahzad had attempted a car-bomb blast in the Times Square of New York in 2016.
It is pertinent to mention here that TTP had claimed the responsibility of attack on Army Public School (APS)in Peshawar which killed over 150 individuals including children.
TTP was also involved in the attack on Pakistani Nobel Prize winner Malala Yousafzai in October 2012.
