WASHINGTON: The US President Donald Trump has stated that talks with North Korea will be resumed when the time is “appropriate” and the circumstances are “right”.
The official White House statement came after Trump’s a telephonic conversation with South Korean President Moon Jae-in on Wednesday.
The conversation happened right after Koreas resumed talks after two years of silence.
The statement added, that the two premiers agree on the importance of continued cooperation against the North Korean nuclear program.
South Korean President Moon also advised Trump to ensure that the rules of engagement should be clear to North Korea while the two Korean sides continue their dialogue.
The statement from South Korean office explained that there will be no military action against North Korea as long as the dialogues are underway.
