WASHINGTON: The 2018 Presidential Executive Politics Presidential Greatness Survey has ranked Donald Trump as the worst president in the US history.
A survey released by Boise State University Monday places Abraham Lincoln as the best president. While the Trump’s predecessor Barack Obama is among the top 10 US presidents of all time.
The survey is conducted every four years and as compared to the last survey there have been a lot of changes in the ranking.
Many presidents have benefited from the current president, improving their rankings on the back of Trump’s unpopularity.
As many as 170 current members of the Presidents & Executive Politics Section of the American Political Science Association took part in the survey.
This is a group of scholars dedicated to studying the American presidency.
The scholars were asked to rate all the US presidents from score 0 to 100, with 100 being best, 50 averages and 0 a total failure.
President Trump managed to score at 12.34.
James Buchanan has been dislodged from the position as the nation’s worst president and Obama also shot 10 places and reached 8th rank from 18th.
There have also been some declines in the presidential ranking naming Bill Clinton who plunged eight places and reached 13th while Andrew Jackson slipped from nine to fifteen.
It is pertinent to mention here that the rankings have been decided by taking votes from around 200 political scientists.
