Salman Bhojani is running for Euless City Council, Place 6. Salman has lived in Euless for 8 years with his wife, Nima, their two children and his parents. He’s a real estate attorney, a small business owner and a community volunteer, serving on the Euless Parks Board and leading a Boy Scout troop.
Bhojani Salman is running to bring diverse perspectives to the City Council. He wants to increase revenue and strengthen neighborhoods by promoting small businesses. And he will engage all residents – especially those in underserved communities – with city resources and opportunities.
Answering a criticism by Rep. Stickland to him as “a Muslim, lawyer, and lifelong Democrat who supports raising your taxes,” Salman Bhojani says that some parts of this statement are true, some are false, and some are entirely irrelevant.
In a statement available on social media Salman Bhojani says “I am proud of my faith and proud to be a citizen of this great country, where the free exercise of religion is enshrined in the First Amendment to our Constitution. My faith is important to me, as I believe Rep. Stickland’s is to him, but no candidate’s faith should be an issue in a campaign for public office.”
He also referred to Article VI of the Constitution states, in part, that “no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States.”
Salman who is an attorney said “I am proud of the law firm I founded and the hundreds of hours of pro bono work I have done for people who cannot afford legal representation. To my mind, knowledge of the law is an asset for those seeking public office.”
