WASHINGTON: Pakistan’ Foreign Secretary (FS) Tehmina Janjua said on Friday that both Pakistan and the US are striving to find common ground.
Janjua made these remarks while briefing Pakistani journalists in Washington on advancements into her three-day foreign visit to the United States.
The foreign secretary stated that this visit was one in a series of bilateral talks with the USA.
These talks at the highest level would assist in understanding each other’s perspective and finding common ground, she added.
Janjua stated that Pakistan is a sovereign and wise state. Further saying Pakistan has responded to America’s policy with its own state interests in mind.
The foreign secretary asserted that both Pakistan and the USA want peace and stability in Afghanistan.
She went on to say that through a series of bilateral talks Pakistan and USA may find common ground.
She mentioned that Pakistan was striving for the swift completion of its border management initiatives. The initiatives are expected to reach completion in a few years.
“Improved border management will limit the intervention of extremist in the country,” she said.
