Pakistan Sends Rs 286,000 Bill to Modi

ISLAMABAD: Pakistani authorities have charged Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi of Rs 2,86,000 as route navigation charges.

According to Times of India, these charges are route navigation for Modi’s visits to Russia, Afghanistan, Iran and Qatar including a brief stopover in Lahore back in 2015.

As per data collected by an Indian officer Lokesh Batra, Modi, until June 2016, using Indian Air Force (IAF) aircraft for his visit to 11 countries including a brief stopover in Pakistan.

In December 2015, Modi paid a brief visit to Lahore on request of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on his way back from Russia and Afghanistan.

According to the records of Indian High Commission in Pakistan, a bill of Rs149,000 as route navigation charges has been issued.

Besides, Pakistani authorities charged Modi of Rs77, 215 for his visit to Iran on May 22-23, 2016, and Rs59, 215 when he visited Qatar on June 4-6, 2016. For both visits, he flew over Pakistan.

According to the data collected, a total of about Rs200 million has been spent on foreign visits of PM Modi during the period for the use of IAF aircraft.
