Storm Dorian has made landfall in the Canadian province of Nova Scotia as a post-tropical cyclone.<\/p>\n

The storm’s estimated maximum sustained winds were 100 mph (155 km\/h) when it made landfall 15 miles (25 km) south of Halifax, according to the National Hurricane Center. Dorian is moving northeast at 30 mph.<\/div>\n

The storm is still dangerous with maximum sustained winds equivalent to a Category 2 hurricane.<\/div>\n

Weather officials say Dorian\u00a0 has left about half a million customers without power.<\/p>\n

As the winds began inflicting damage in Canada, the storm was upgraded to a Category 2 by hurricane tracking services in both Canada and the United States.<\/p>\n

Hurricane warnings remain in effect for parts of Nova Scotia and Newfoundland, the center said.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The storm is expected to pass over northern Newfoundland and eastern Labrador early on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Residents close to the shore were advised to evacuate as a precaution.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
