{"id":9022,"date":"2019-09-05T15:10:15","date_gmt":"2019-09-05T10:10:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.vosa.tv\/?p=9022"},"modified":"2019-09-05T15:10:15","modified_gmt":"2019-09-05T10:10:15","slug":"another-patient-has-died-from-lung-disease-after-vaping","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vosa.tv\/eng\/archives\/9022","title":{"rendered":"Another Patient Has Died From Lung Disease After Vaping"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"css-exrw3m evys1bk0\">A second person has died from a severe lung illness after vaping, according to a lead investigator on the case in Oregon, U.S. state in the Pacific Northwest.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-exrw3m evys1bk0\">The investigator said that the person had apparently become sick after vaping T.H.C. from a product purchased at a recreational marijuana shop in the state.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-exrw3m evys1bk0\">The investigator, Dr. Ann Thomas, a pediatrician and public health physician who is leading Oregon\u2019s incident management team, said the person died in July after being hospitalized and put on a ventilator.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-exrw3m evys1bk0\">Dr. Thomas declined to identify the person or disclose the age or gender, but said the patient was \u201cotherwise healthy and quickly became very ill.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The doctor who treated the patient recognized several weeks later that the patient\u2019s lung infection was consistent with a syndrome thought to\u00a0 be connected to vaping that has affected more than 200 people around the country this summer, according to federal health officials.<\/p>\n<p>So far,\u00a0 one another patient is known to have died, an adult in Illinois, and this second death \u2014 more than a thousand miles away.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A second person has died from a severe lung illness after vaping, according to a lead investigator on the case in Oregon, U.S. state in the Pacific Northwest.
