{"id":8649,"date":"2019-08-28T14:38:38","date_gmt":"2019-08-28T09:38:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.vosa.tv\/?p=8649"},"modified":"2019-08-28T14:38:38","modified_gmt":"2019-08-28T09:38:38","slug":"meeting-iran-counterpart-japan-minister-says-he-hopes-to-ease-mid-east-tension","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vosa.tv\/eng\/archives\/8649","title":{"rendered":"Meeting Iran counterpart, Japan minister says he hopes to ease Mid-East tension"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Japan will try to help ease tension in the Middle East, Foreign Minister Taro Kono said on Tuesday at a meeting with his Iranian counterpart, Mohammad Javad Zarif.<\/p>\n<p>Zarif said he looked forward to discussions with Kono as both countries had special interests in the security of the energy market and stability in the Gulf.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are worried about tension in the Middle East and we hope to make some diplomatic effort to ease the tension,\u201d Kono told reporters as he stood with Zarif.<\/p>\n<p>Trump said on Monday he would meet Iran\u2019s president under the right circumstances to end the confrontation over the nuclear deal.<\/p>\n<p>But President Hassan Rouhani said Iran would not talk to the United States until all sanctions were lifted.<\/p>\n<p>Tension between Iran and the United States has risen since President Donald Trump\u2019s administration last year quit an international deal to curb Iran\u2019s nuclear ambitions and began to ratchet up sanctions.<\/p>\n<p>Japan has historically had friendly ties with Iran and is also a close U.S. ally.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Japan will try to help ease tension in the Middle East, Foreign Minister Taro Kono said on Tuesday at a meeting with his Iranian counterpart, Mohammad Javad Zarif.
