{"id":8363,"date":"2019-08-21T10:10:41","date_gmt":"2019-08-21T05:10:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.vosa.tv\/?p=8363"},"modified":"2019-08-21T10:10:41","modified_gmt":"2019-08-21T05:10:41","slug":"us-president-trump-delays-denmark-visit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vosa.tv\/eng\/archives\/8363","title":{"rendered":"US President Trump Delays Denmark Visit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>U.S. President Donald Trump announced Tuesday that he is postponing a trip to Denmark after its premier rejected his idea of purchasing Greenland.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDenmark is a very special country with incredible people, but based on Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen\u2019s comments, that she would have no interest in discussing the [U.S.] purchase of Greenland, I will be postponing our meeting scheduled in two weeks for another time,\u201d Trump wrote on his Twitter account.<\/p>\n<p>According to a Wall Street Journal report, Trump had been asking his advisors in meetings, dinners and conversations whether the U.S. could acquire Greenland and would listen with interest when they discussed Greenland\u2019s abundant resources and geopolitical importance.<\/p>\n<p>In response, Greenland\u2019s Foreign Ministry said on Twitter that \u201c#Greenland is rich in valuable resources such as minerals, the purest water and ice, fish stocks, seafood, renewable energy and is a new frontier for adventure tourism.
