{"id":7416,"date":"2019-08-01T13:18:22","date_gmt":"2019-08-01T08:18:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.vosa.tv\/?p=7416"},"modified":"2019-08-01T13:18:22","modified_gmt":"2019-08-01T08:18:22","slug":"strike-prompts-hundreds-of-train-cancellations-in-spain","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vosa.tv\/eng\/archives\/7416","title":{"rendered":"Strike prompts hundreds of train cancellations in Spain"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Spanish national rail operator Renfe has canceled hundreds of trains on one of the busiest travel days of the year due to a strike over staffing levels.<\/p>\n<p>The company said more than 700 scheduled services wouldn&#8217;t operate Wednesday, a day when many people were heading off on their summer vacation.<\/p>\n<h3>This will disrupt scores of summer travellers as the most Spaniards take their summer breaks in August.<\/h3>\n<p>The Spanish General Workers&#8217; Federation also plans walkouts on three other heavy vacation traffic days \u2014 Aug. 14 and 31, and Sept. 1.<\/p>\n<p>The government stipulated that a minimum number of services must run on each day of the strikes.<\/p>\n<p>The workers&#8217; federation argues that a shortage of staff is leading to overwork and lower service quality.
