18 people, including five crew members and 12 civilians, lost their lives after a Pakistan Army aviation aircraft on a routine training flight crashed in the Pakistani city of Rawalpindi.<\/p>\n
According to an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) press release, 12 others were injured in the incident. They were shifted to a hospital.<\/p>\n
The aircraft was on a routine training flight when it crash and set off a fire which engulfed several houses. It was not immediately clear what caused the crash. The plane was part of the Pakistani Army’s aviation unit.<\/p>\n
Rawalpindi, near the capital Islamabad, is the site of the army’s headquarters.<\/p>\n
