{"id":6993,"date":"2019-07-23T10:02:34","date_gmt":"2019-07-23T05:02:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.vosa.tv\/?p=6993"},"modified":"2019-07-23T10:02:34","modified_gmt":"2019-07-23T05:02:34","slug":"russian-bombing-of-syria-death-toll-rises-to-38","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vosa.tv\/eng\/archives\/6993","title":{"rendered":"Russian Bombing of Syria, Death toll rises to 38"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Syrian and Russian air raids killed at least 50 people and wounded scores in northwestern Syria on Monday, most of them in a crowded market in rebel-held territory of Idlib.<\/p>\n<p>At least 36 civilians and two unidentified persons were killed in the attack on a vegetable market in the town of Maarat al-Numan.<\/p>\n<p>The head of the local hospital, Radwan Shardub, described his horror at seeing &#8220;burnt and carbonised bodies and body parts&#8221;.\u00a0&#8220;It&#8217;s boundless criminality to shameful international silence,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>Another 12 civilians were killed in government air raids in other parts of Idlib on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Shortly after the market attack, Syrian state media said rebels shelled the government-held\u00a0village of Jourin in northern Hama province,\u00a0killing seven civilians.<\/p>\n<p>The region has witnessed intensive air attacks and bombardment on a daily basis as Syrian troops, backed by Russian air cover, try to push their way into the enclave near the Turkish border.<\/p>\n<p>Idlib province is the last major rebel stronghold in the country outside the control of Assad\u00a0forces.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Syrian and Russian air raids killed at least 50 people and wounded scores in northwestern Syria on Monday, most of them in a crowded market in rebel-held territory of Idlib.
