President Donald Trump has renewed his attacks on four Democratic congresswomen, demanding an apology “for the horrible (hateful) things they have said.”<\/p>\n
Republican President Donald Trump has continued his attack on first-term Congresswomen Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Rashida Tlaib, Ilhan Omar and Ayanna Pressley, against whom he launched xenophobic tweets\u00a0last week.<\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t believe the four Congresswomen are capable of loving our Country. They should apologise to America (and Israel) for the horrible (hateful) things they have said,\u201d Trump said in a Twitter post.<\/p>\n
The first-term congresswomen, known as \u201cthe squad,\u201d have been highly critical of Trump and have also challenged their own Democratic leadership. Tlaib and Omar have been outspoken critics of Israel\u2019s government.<\/p>\n
U.S. Representative Elijah Cummings, the Democratic chairman of the House of Representatives Oversight Committee, denounced Trump\u2019s latest attack and said he had \u201cno doubt\u201d that Trump was a racist.<\/p>\n
Trump has repeatedly tried to tag Democrats as backing policies that he and Republicans in Congress portray as \u201csocialist\u201d and out of step with much of the country.
