He had said that &#8220;India&#8217;s claim for relief [&#8230;] must be dismissed.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>India&#8217;s lawyers told the court in February that it was a \u201cfarcical case\u201d based on \u201cmalicious propaganda\u201d, while Pakistan&#8217;s lawyers hit back by accusing Jadhav of \u201cterrorism\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The last hearing coincided with a sharp spike in tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbours after a suicide bombing in occupied Kashmir&#8217;s Pulwama, although relations have since improved.<\/p>\n<p>The court found by 15 votes to 1 that Pakistan had breached Jadhav\u2019s rights under the Vienna convention on consular relations by not allowing Indian diplomats to visit him in jail, according to the document.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The World Court on Wednesday ordered Pakistan to review the death penalty given in 2017 to former Indian navy commander Kulbhushan Sudhir Jadhav who was convicted of being a spy, a document published on the court&#8217;s website\u00a0showed.
