{"id":6736,"date":"2019-07-17T13:00:51","date_gmt":"2019-07-17T08:00:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.vosa.tv\/?p=6736"},"modified":"2019-07-17T13:00:51","modified_gmt":"2019-07-17T08:00:51","slug":"uae-based-oil-tanker-disappears-in-iranian-waters","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vosa.tv\/eng\/archives\/6736","title":{"rendered":"UAE-based oil tanker disappears in Iranian waters"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>An oil tanker based in the United Arab Emirates is missing after it stopped in the Strait of Hormuz three days ago, It had switched off its transponder.<\/p>\n<p>Shipping tracking data showed that the Panama-flagged Riah stopped transmitting its position late Saturday when it was off the coast of Iran\u2019s Qeshm Island in the Strait of Hormuz, where Iran\u2019s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has a base.<\/p>\n<p>Concerns are raising that it may have been seized by Iran amid heightened tensions in the Persian Gulf.<\/p>\n<p data-elm-loc=\"3\">Data showed that the ship was\u00a0on its way to Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates before diverting sharply and slowing to a halt\u00a0in Iranian territorial waters.<\/p>\n<p data-elm-loc=\"4\">An Emirati official denied that the tanker has links to the UAE, saying that the ship is\u00a0\u201cneither UAE owned nor operated\u201d and \u201cdoes not carry Emirati personnel.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-elm-loc=\"6\">There were conflicting reports about the ownership of the Riah, a small oil-products tanker.
