{"id":6388,"date":"2019-07-11T13:02:13","date_gmt":"2019-07-11T08:02:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.vosa.tv\/?p=6388"},"modified":"2019-07-11T13:02:13","modified_gmt":"2019-07-11T08:02:13","slug":"france-says-missiles-found-in-libya-were-unusable","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vosa.tv\/eng\/archives\/6388","title":{"rendered":"France says missiles found in Libya were &#8216;unusable&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>France said on Wednesday anti-tank missiles it bought from the United States and were later found in a base belonging to troops loyal to Libya\u2019s eastern commander Khalifa Haftar were never intended for sale or transfer to any party to Libya\u2019s conflict.<\/p>\n<p>The Army Ministry said the missiles were intended for the \u201cself-protection of a French military unit deployed to carry out intelligence and counter-terrorism operations\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDamaged and unusable, the armaments were being temporarily stocked at a depot ahead of their destruction,\u201d the ministry said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>It is the first time since 2016 that France has publicly acknowledged it still has special forces deployed in Libya. It is not clear how many troops are deployed.
