NEWYORK: A Pakistani-American Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and prominent community figure Nasir Faizi hosted a “meet-and-greet” at his residence in New York in honor of the Republican candidate for Governor and Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The “meet-and-greet” was attended by several prominent members of the community.<\/p>\n

Addressing the participants, Bruce Blakeman said that Kathy Hochul was never seen in the area prior to the election. He said that she frequently changes her stances and cannot be trusted.<\/p>\n

Blakeman said that while he may not have visited mosques or other places of worship, he has taken concrete, visible actions for the benefit of the Muslim community.<\/p>\n

During the event, a question-and-answer session took place between the guests and the candidate.<\/p>\n

The host, Nasir Faizi, said that the crime rate in Nassau County is effectively zero, and highlighted that Bruce Blakeman has done significant work for the betterment of both the county and the Muslim community. He expressed hope that Blakeman would emerge successful in the election.<\/p>\n

In response to a question, Nasir Faizi explained that Bruce Blakeman had clarified he never intended to cause any offense to the Muslim community.<\/p>\n

Faizi said that the Democrats have not done anything for Muslims, yet when election season arrives, they suddenly visit temples, mosques, and churches alike.<\/p>\n

Noting that a large number of Pakistanis reside in Nassau County, Faizi urged the community to take an active role in local politics and participate fully in the electoral process.<\/p>\n

During this meeting, a senior advisor to Bruce Blakeman, Chaudhry Akram and executive director of Asian American Affairs Aun Naqvi also shared their views on behalf of the Pakistani-American community.<\/p>\n

They said that Bruce Blakeman has provided full support to all communities residing in the county and has prevented any tax hikes. They said that Nasir Faizi is a man of firm resolve; once he stands by someone, he never wavers.<\/p>\n

Speaking on the occasion, Mufti Sajjad Madani said that while everyone has the right to hold differing political views, no one should be permitted to incite hatred or prejudice.<\/p>\n
