NEWYORK: American Muslim community gathered in New York to mark the 25th anniversary of the 9\/11 tragedy and to remember and honor the victims. A prayer ceremony was organized outside Makki Masjid, where candles were also lit in memory of those who lost their lives.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Muslim community organized a prayer ceremony outside Makki Masjid at Coney Island Avenue to mark 25 th anniversary of 9\/11 tragedy, to honor the deceased and express solidarity with their families. The event began with a recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by a Naat in honor of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).<\/p>\n

Social figures among the organizers included Raja Azad Gul, Mohammad Rizvi, Chaudhry Sajid, Makki Masjid President Zafar Iqbal, Ikram Qureshi, Rana Saeed, and Hasnain Imtiaz. Speakers remarked that the tragedy had changed so much, yet we stand united under one flag and will continue to do so.<\/p>\n

The Commanding Officer of Counter-Terrorism for the New York Police Department (NYPD)\u2014and the first inspector of Pakistani-American Adeel Rana attended the ceremony as the chief guest. He said that Pakistani-Americans and the Muslim community have consistently demonstrated that they have not forgotten the tragedy or its victims, and people must remain united.<\/p>\n

Members of the Pakistani-American community attending the event held American flags.<\/p>\n

Speakers emphasized that their gathering sent a clear message: terrorism has no religion or nationality.<\/p>\n

Prominent religious scholars attending the event\u2014including Mir Hussain Shah, Pir Safdar Hussain Shah, and others\u2014expressed their heartfelt sympathy for the victims and their families and offered prayers. The speakers remarked that it is impossible to forget 9\/11.<\/p>\n

Later, refreshments were served to the participants and candles were lit in memory of the tragedy’s victims.<\/p>\n
