NEWYORK: Pakistani American organized 42 nd annual “Pakistan Day Parade and Festival” to celebrate Pakistan 79 th Independence Day in Manhattan, New York.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The parade began with the special band performances and contingent of the New York City Police which marched and saluted.<\/p>\n

The organizers of the parade served breakfast of traditional Halwa-Puri to the participants of the parade.<\/p>\n

The parade was attended not only by New Yorkers but also by community members from neighboring states and cities, led by Chairman Dr. Mazharul Haq, General Secretary Khawar Baig, President Munir Lodhi, Ahmed Jan and others, waving the green crescent flag and raising slogans of Long-Live Pakistan.<\/p>\n

The festival featured attractive stalls of traditional Pakistani food and clothing, which remained the center of attention of the participants throughout the day.<\/p>\n

Along the parade route, vehicles, trucks and colorful floats decorated with green crescent flags were presenting a scene of Pakistani culture and national unity, while the atmosphere echoed with the loud slogans of “Pakistan Zindabad”. Arabic dance was also performed on the occasion.<\/p>\n

President of the parade committee Munir Lodhi warmly welcomed the participants. Grand Marshal of the parade Dr. Pervaiz Iqbal and Board of Trustees member Asad Chaudhry expressed their views and thanked the community for the successful organization.<\/p>\n

A large number of the community participated in the Pakistan Day parade, who were dressed in clothes similar to the colors of the national flag.<\/p>\n

Young people, men, women and elderly people all came out in love with the homeland, while Malik Sajjad, a special guest from Japan, delayed his return.<\/p>\n

The parade, which started from 38th Street on Madison Avenue, reached 28th Street and the main stage was decorated at Madison Square Garden where Dr. Samina Ahmed moderated tehe event.<\/p>\n

After the recitation of the Holy Quran, Naat Khawan Prince Naseeb, who came from the UK, offered Naat in honor of the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him).<\/p>\n

The administration, led by Pakistan Day Parade Committee Chairman Dr. Haq and Convener Ahmed Jan, played a key role in the organization of the parade day. The national anthems of America and Pakistan were played.<\/p>\n

The green crescent flags waving in the parade revived the spirit of the participants. Finance Secretary Asad Chaudhry, Chairman Stalls Committee Amir Rasool and other important officials including Raja Razaq, Asif Baig and Tahir Sindhu ensured splendid arrangements.<\/p>\n

A group of children also presented a beautiful performance on national songs.<\/p>\n

Nadir Khan, a famous singer from the famous music band of the 1980s, and renowned singer Rizwania Khan increased the enthusiasm of the participants by performing national songs and popular songs.<\/p>\n

Pakistan Day Parade Grand Marshal Dr. Pervez Iqbal, General Secretary of the Committee Khawar Baig and Ahmed Jan welcomed the audience from the stage. They said that we have always tried with all our hearts to do the best for our community.<\/p>\n

The participants hoisted the green crescent flag to the tunes of national songs and rekindled the joy of the celebration.<\/p>\n

The most memorable moment of the event was the entry of the famous international pop star Bilal Saeed, who rocked the event with his hit songs and forced thousands of participants to dance.<\/p>\n

Later, New York City Government Deputy Public Advocate Kashif Hussain honored singer Bilal Saeed for his outstanding services on behalf of the Public Advocate Office, while the entire organizing team of the 42nd Pakistan Day Parade was presented with an official certificate of honor for organizing a wonderful and successful event.<\/p>\n
