NEWYORK: Pakistan American Community USA in collaboration with Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman organized a festival on the occasion of Pakistan\u2019s 79 th Independence Day at Eisenhower Park in Long Island.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The event began with recitation of Holy Quran by Ayaz Siddiqui. The national anthems of America and Pakistan were also played on this occasion.<\/p>\n

A large number of the Pakistani American community participated in the event.<\/p>\n

The green crescent flags were visible everywhere at the Independence Festival. The majority of the participants were dressed in green and white clothes.<\/p>\n

The ceremony was moderated by PAC USA General Secretary Asim Malik, who introduced the guests and welcomed them on their arrival.<\/p>\n

The colors of the culture of Azad Kashmir, including the four provinces of Pakistan, were prominent in the event.<\/p>\n

People from different groups dressed in the cultural costumes of Sindh, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan and Kashmir presented their performances.<\/p>\n

Dressed in a green crescent flag-like outfit, PAC US President Salman Sheikh, in his unique style, repeated the announcement of the first broadcast of Radio Pakistani in 1947.<\/p>\n

The stage play based on different periods of Pakistan’s history and freedom struggle also captivated the audience. The audience highly appreciated the lively acting of the artists and the depiction of historical events.<\/p>\n

The participants of the Independence Day Festival were also given various prizes. PAC USA Senior Vice President Madiha Mustafa and directors Anam Mohsin, Maryam Jalil, Mohammad Gul and spokesperson Humayun Shabbir also expressed their views.<\/p>\n

The directors and other members of PAC USA said that they will continue to organize such events to connect the new generation of Pakistanis living abroad with the history, culture and traditions of Pakistan.<\/p>\n

The enthusiastic participation of the Pakistani American community at the Independence Day festival gave a clear message that wherever they are in the world, their hearts beat with Pakistan. Singer Saima Jahan performed national songs which were enjoyed by the audience.<\/p>\n

The Independence Day event was attended by American officials, leaders of the Pakistani American community, social figures and people from different walks of life. The speakers congratulated the participants on Independence Day and expressed their best wishes.<\/p>\n

Nassau County Executive Senior Chaudhry Akram and Executive Director of the Office of Asian American Affairs Aun Naqvi expressed hope that the Pakistani American community will remain united.<\/p>\n

Renowned Pakistani singer Ali Azmat performed at stage and his national songs increased the enthusiasm of the participants.<\/p>\n
