NEWYORK: Soni Watan Gilgit-Baltistant USA organized an all parties conference in New York which was participated by the representatives of the Kashmiri and Pakistani communities, political and social figures, human rights organizations and people from different walks of life.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The conference aimed to discuss in detail the current situation of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, the right of self-determination of the Kashmiri people and the prospects of peace in the region. The event was moderated by Wakeel Ansari.<\/p>\n

The conference formally began with the recitation of the Holy Quran.<\/p>\n

Chairman Soni Watan Gilgit-Baltistan Naseem Gilgiti said that the strength of Pakistan is linked to the stability of the region. He said that national unity and solidarity are the important need of the hour and differences should be resolved within the ambit of law.<\/p>\n

Naseem Gilgiti said that enemy forces are trying to weaken Pakistan, therefore the people should prioritize unity, peace and national interest.<\/p>\n

He said that Pakistan\u2019s development and stability are in the interest of the entire region, including Gilgit-Baltistan.<\/p>\n

Addressing the participants, the special guest of the conference, Sardar Swar Khan, said that 98 percent of Kashmiris are with Pakistan, and attention also needs to be paid to the daily problems, economic difficulties and development challenges faced by the people of Azad Kashmir.<\/p>\n

He also stressed the importance of a common strategy between Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Kashmir and Pakistan.<\/p>\n

Other participants of the conference stressed that all political and social circles should play a joint role for peace, development and resolution of public issues in the entire region, including Azad Kashmir.<\/p>\n

The speakers said that united efforts to effectively highlight the fundamental rights, development needs and political issues of the Kashmiri people are the need of the hour.<\/p>\n

During the conference, prominent Kashmiri leader Sardar Sawar Khan was conferred a special award for his long-standing service to highlight the Kashmir issue at the global level and for his services to the rights of the Kashmiri people.<\/p>\n
