NEWYORK: Mourners took out procession in New York to commemorate the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA), grandson of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), and his companions in the battle of Karbala, presently in Iraq.<\/strong><\/p>\n

A large number of mourners, including men, women and children, attended the procession which started from Park Avenue 50 street.<\/p>\n

Addressing the mourners gathering held before the procession, scholars shed light on the Karbala incident. The speakers said that the courage, bravery, patience and perseverance shown by the grandson of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), Hazrat Hussain (RA) and his companions against the tyranny will be remembered forever.<\/p>\n

The participants of the procession were also carrying Alam and Taziya to remember the martyrs of Karbala. The mourners paid rich tribute to the sacrifice of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) by reciting elegies and beating their chests throughout the procession.<\/p>\n

Various associations and social organizations had also set up their stalls to guide the mourners. Other speakers also addressed the occasion and paid tribute to the martyrs of Karbala.<\/p>\n

The New York Police Department had made security arrangements to protect the participants of the procession. The procession culminated at 65th Street on Madison Avenue after passing through its designated routes.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
