NEWYORK: Empowered Muslim Women of New York held an event \u00a0at the Long Island\u2019s public library in honor of the graduates of Commack High School, in which the graduates and students were awarded scholarships and certificates of appreciation for their services.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Empowered\u00a0Muslim\u00a0Women of New York\u2019s leader Shazia Jabeen\u00a0expressed her gratitude to the guests.<\/p>\n

The ceremony began with the recitation of the Holy Quran. Speaking at the event, the District Attorney’s representative raised awareness about internet safety and the use of social media, while four-time world champion in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Joe Thompson said that women in society face many difficulties.<\/p>\n

Director of the Anti-Bias Task Force Huntington\u00a0Helen Boxwill, and Huntington Supervisor Ed Smyth appreciated the services of Empowered\u00a0Muslim\u00a0Women of New York to the community and offered their suggestions.<\/p>\n

Shazia Jabeen expressed her gratitude to the team members for organizing the program and vowed to continue the these events in the future.
