{"id":36842,"date":"2025-05-08T15:51:41","date_gmt":"2025-05-08T15:51:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.vosa.tv\/eng\/?p=36842"},"modified":"2025-05-08T15:51:41","modified_gmt":"2025-05-08T15:51:41","slug":"siut-makes-another-breakthrough-for-treatment-of-cancer-patients","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vosa.tv\/eng\/archives\/36842","title":{"rendered":"SIUT makes another breakthrough for treatment of cancer patients"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>KARACHI: Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation SIUT has made another breakthrough for the treatment of cancer patients by introducing a state-of-the-art diagnosis technology known as PET\/CT in the interior of Sindh province.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The technology is known for having a significant impact on the treatment of cancer, as it enables physicians to obtain more accurate pictures and helps them in carrying out and monitoring the ailment in a more effective manner.<\/p>\n<p>SIUT sources said that the doctors engaged with the introduction of the new technology are in a better position to visualize the metabolic activity in the human body, which helps them in checking any adverse growth.<\/p>\n<p>The installation of PET\/CT is another testament to the SIUT towards its commitment to bring modern medical technologies and expertise to the region, particularly far-flung areas.<\/p>\n<p>Experts opined that the facility will go a long way for the population of interior Sindh, where the population who have fallen victim to cancer often have to travel long distances to avail the facility.<\/p>\n<p>The new facility&#8217;s availability at their doorstep has opened new vistas of comfort and removed economic burden, as all the treatment provided in SIUT is free of cost.<\/p>\n<p>The destination of the revolutionary facility is Sukkur, where SIU,T, since its inception, is running a comprehensive network of medical care in a wide-ranging field, including urology, nephrology, and oncology.<\/p>\n<p>A press release of the Institute released today said the facility, which offers a wide range of services, is equipped with modern technology, a team of well-trained staff, and experienced medical manpower.<\/p>\n<p>The project started in 2017 and was completed at a cost of approximately 1.5 billion rupees.
