{"id":36556,"date":"2025-04-14T16:29:05","date_gmt":"2025-04-14T16:29:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.vosa.tv\/eng\/?p=36556"},"modified":"2025-04-15T16:33:09","modified_gmt":"2025-04-15T16:33:09","slug":"ntic-calls-for-collective-efforts-against-hate-and-bigotry","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vosa.tv\/eng\/archives\/36556","title":{"rendered":"NTIC calls for collective efforts against Islamophobia, hate and bigotry"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>FRISCO TX: The North Texas Islamic Council held its quarterly meeting at the Islamic Center of Frisco bringing together leaders from over 60 Islamic schools, Masajids, and the Muslim organizations across the Dallas Forth Worth metroplex.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The gathering themed \u201cunity, wisdom and purpose: our response to challenges of today\u201d centered around empowering the DFW Muslim community through education, civic and interfaith management and strategic collective action.<\/p>\n<p>A highlight of the meeting was keynote address that addressed the growing need to confront rising Islamophobia through education, engagement, unity and the resilience.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIslamophobia is real. Whether it comes through biased media narratives, unjust policies or violent hate crimes-it affects our children, our elderly, our Masajids and our identity. But we must remember; fear and ignorance are defeated not by silence, but by knowledge, engagement and unity,\u201d said NTIC President Mujeeb Kazi.<\/p>\n<p>Mujeeb urged the DFW Muslim community to embrace the prophetic model of Shura (consultation), promoting collective wisdom over isolated efforts.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSolo flights may look impressive for a moment but only the united formation reaches the destination. When we act as one, we are stronger, more effective and more respected,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Mujeeb asked the participants of the event to educate fellow Americans about the contributions of Muslims as law-abiding citizens, professionals and neighbors.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are not outsiders. We are part of the American fabric. And we must continue telling our story in schools, in media, in boardrooms and public offices,\u201d Mujeeb said.<\/p>\n<p>The speakers of the event emphasized the importance of the political engagement. The NTIC recognized\u00a0 the value of objective-based endorsements and thanked those who support candidates not just emotionally, but strategically and financially.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe need representation that reflects our values and advocates our rights-not just during campaign season, but after the votes are counted,\u201d former president of Islamic society of North America Azhar Azeez said.<\/p>\n<p>In response to external challenges and attacks on the community, NTIC leaders stressed the need for strategic, dignified and intelligent responses, emphasizing coalition-building and legal advocacy.<\/p>\n<p>To carry forward the momentum of the gathering, NTIC announced the formation of a task force focused on amplifying the contributions of the American Muslims and creating sustainable platforms for community development and visibility.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting reaffirmed NTIC\u2019s commitment to unity, wisdom and purposeful action with a shared belief that through collaboration, the DFW Muslim community can help build a stronger, more inclusive society for all Americans and re-write the American Muslim narrative.<\/p>\n<p>NTIC is a collaborative umbrella platform uniting Masajid, schools and Muslim organizations across DFW metroplex.
