NEWYORK:\u00a0 Medical experts said that breast cancer is a curable disease but can be fatal in case of carelessness. They said that women over the age of forty should get themselves checked regularly.<\/strong><\/p>\n

They were \u00a0addressing an awareness seminar organized by New Life Minority Human Rights Council \u00a0at Coney Island Avenue.<\/p>\n

A large number of community women including members of the organization, American officials participated in the awareness seminar.<\/p>\n

Founder of New Life Minority Human Rights Raheela Aslam and Dr. Salma Kausar informed women about breast protection and preventive measures.<\/p>\n

They said that timely diagnosis can prevent this disease from becoming complicated and women between the ages of forty and fifty should get their checkup regularly.<\/p>\n

This year the days of October 13 to 17 have been selected for Breast Cancer Awareness.<\/p>\n

The women participating in the seminar were dressed in pink dresses as a symbol of breast cancer awareness.<\/p>\n

Renowned medical practitioner Dr. Ifat Siddiqui shed light on breast cancer diagnosis and treatment methods. Dr. Siddiqui said that if someone in the family has breast cancer, other women should not be careless.<\/p>\n

Deputy Consul General of Pakistan in New York Umar Shaikh and NYPD\u2019s Muslim Chaplain Imam Tahir also participated in the seminar.<\/p>\n

They said that women can be prevented and cured from the breast cancer due to awareness about the \u00a0disease.<\/p>\n

A question and answer session was also held between the participants and the doctors on the occasion. Experts gave advice to women and the participants shared their experiences and appreciated the efforts of New Life Minority Human Rights Council.<\/p>\n

Later, the members of New Life Minority Human Rights Council along with Deputy Consul General Umar Sheikh also organized an awareness walk. Experts further said that breast cancer was also happening to men as this year 27 thousand men have been diagnosed with breast cancer.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
