NEWYORK: Pakistan Muslim League-N Senator General (Retd) Abdul Qayyum said that political parties have no more any trend of tolerating difference of opinions and Army has much democratic norms and values as compare to political parties of the country.<\/strong><\/p>\n

He was addressing a reception hosted in his honour at the Muslim League House in the New York.<\/p>\n

Senior Vice President PML(N) Mian Fayyaz hosted a dinner in honor of Senator General (retd) Abdul Qayyum at the Muslim League House situated at Coney Island Avenue in Brooklyn.<\/p>\n

Talking with party leaders and activists, Abdul Qayyum said that difference of opinion is the beauty of the democracy but unfortunately this trend has been diminished in the political parties.<\/p>\n

PML(N) USA President Rohail Dar, senior leader Raja Razaq and others were also present on the occasion.<\/p>\n

General (retd) Abdul Qayyum said that PML(N) governments were not allowed to complete their tenures in the past and now hatred has been created against the Army.\u00a0 He said that he had advised former prime minister and PML(N) chief Nawaz Sharif to directly contact with Army Chief as there was no need of any negotiators.<\/p>\n

In response to a question, Senator Abdul Qayyum said that when he assumed charge of Pakistan Steel Mills during President General Musharaf\u2019s era the PSM was in severe financial losses but he made the PSM as profitable institution during his tenure. He said that later the political governments did not allow to run the PSM.<\/p>\n

On this occasion, President of PML-N America Rohail Dar said that Tehreek-e-Insaaf is a social media party and an effective strategy is needed to respond to its propaganda. He said that Nawaz Sharif is the symbol of progress and prosperity of the country.<\/p>\n

The host of the event Mian Fayyaz demanded that PIA flights between Pakistan and America should be restored.<\/p>\n

The PML(N) leaders discussed several issues with Senator Abdul Qayyum during the event and also presented their own suggestions. \u00a0PML(N) leaders said that problems of energy crisis and expensive electricity needs to be resolved immediately.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
