<\/p>\nNew York: New York City Mayor Eric Adams has rejected the \u2018controversial policing bill\u2019 586-A, saying the bill undermines community-oriented policing. Also, the masses, NYPD-MOS, and community organizations including APAG, and COPO have demanded the council for the revocation of the controversial bill.\u00a0\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

The Mayor says that the police are supposed to arrest criminals to prevent crime; this bill will create obstacles for the police. He said this while holding an important press conference at City Hall.<\/strong><\/p>\n In severe cold and snow in New York City, masses staged a protest in City Hall against the bill saying they do not accept the controversial policing bill. If the legislators cannot work to protect the citizens, they should resign.<\/strong><\/p>\n The protestors carried placards with various demands; they said that if the police continue to do only paperwork, then who will solve the crimes?<\/strong><\/p>\n Later, Mayor Eric Adams held a press conference in the city hall and said that such a bill creates obstacles in the responsibilities of the police. <\/strong><\/p>\n Police Commissioner Edward Caban, Police Chief Jeffrey Maddrey, and officials of the mayor’s administration also participated in the press conference.<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0On this occasion, Commissioner Edward Caban and Chief Jeffrey Maddrey said that the implementation of the controversial bill will not only create problems for the police, but also the city will become unsafe. <\/strong><\/p>\n On this occasion, other speakers participating in the press conference said that be it gang war, use of illegal weapons or drug trafficking, in every situation the police has to protect the citizens.
