New York: In line with its commitment to reducing carbon emissions by 2040,\u00a0 New York City is all set to bring a multi-million yet environment-friendly project of purchasing over 900 electric vehicles including vans, pickups that will replace the old fleet, soon.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

New York City Mayor Eric Adams announced the project at a press conference.<\/p>\n

\u201cElectric vehicles are our future,\u201d said the Adams.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

According to the plan, 300 new charging stations will also be established.<\/p>\n

The federal government will provide funds of 10 million dollars for this project. Some $6 million will be spent on the purchase of electric vehicles for the City Department for Administrative Services.<\/p>\n

The remaining grant will go to the city’s Sanitation Department, which plans to purchase seven electric garbage trucks and plug-in Hubbard Street sewers.<\/p>\n
