New York: The Clergy Council 49th Pct in conjunction with Bronx Borough President and community held an event – a \u2018prayer response against violence\u2019 for the speedy recovery of Zulfiqar Ali Albi – a Pakistani community member in New York, who was shot and injured by assailants, recently<\/strong> at the Sunoco gas station.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Zulfiqar Ali Albi is a member of the Pakistani community who was shot in the head on duty at the Sunoco gas station on Boston Road, at Astor Avenue, in Allerton, last Tuesday.<\/p>\n

He is still being treated in the hospital in critical condition.<\/p>\n

A prayer event was organized by Clergy Council 49th Precinct and Bronx Borough President Vanessa Gibson against violence at the gas station.<\/p>\n

Bronx Borough President who participated in the event, said that we are against those who are involved in violence. Such elements should be dealt with iron hand.<\/p>\n

We pray for Zulfikar Ali Albi that he gets well soon. We are with you every step of the way.<\/p>\n

President of New York Police Department\u2019s (NYDC) Muslim Officer Society (MOS), Adeel Rana and others who participated in the event said that they have gathered here to express solidarity over the incident with Zulfiqar Albi.<\/p>\n

\u201cSuch an incident can happen to anyone. We must show solidarity,\u201d they stressed.<\/p>\n
