A Pakistani-American man, Danish Baig, was among the eight people who died in a stampede during rap star Travis Scott\u2019s Astroworld music festival in Houston, Texas on November 5. The deaths happened near the stage when the crowd surged towards it.<\/p>\n
Danish, 27, whose family migrated to the US from Karachi, had also died in the tragic incident while trying to save his fianc\u00e9e, Olivia Swingle, according to his family.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe managed to get it to where she was able to get out,\u201d Danish\u2019s brother Ammar Baig told PEOPLE magazine in an interview. He said that Danish was separated from Olivia, 25, in the chaos.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
\u201cSomehow, the ambulance managed to get to her, and then, by the time they got to my brother, they tried resuscitating him. And they said that before they got to the hospital, he couldn\u2019t make it.\u201d Ammar, described the scene as recounted by their younger brother Basil Baig, who was also in attendance at Friday\u2019s concert.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Danish and Olivia, who both worked at a telecommunications company, had traveled from Dallas to Houston after months of planning to listen to Scott and other artists in the concert.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe would always take care of his fianc\u00e9e. He would always get her whatever she wanted. They would always have goals, plans, all these things he had in his mind for them,\u201d Ammar said of the couple.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
\u201cHe just started his life.\u201d \u201cWe just want prayers for him,\u201d Danish\u2019s brother added.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Ammar blames poor organization and lack of security at the event for his brother\u2019s death.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat happened to my brother is not right, and it\u2019s unjust, and we\u2019re going to find justice for him,\u201d he added.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
After a funeral service on Sunday, Danish was buried in Colleyville in the Dallas-Forth Worth, Texas, as his family and community member mourned his tragic loss.<\/p>\n
