Amidst strict health measures, only sixty thousand pilgrims were converging at Maidan-e-Arafat on Monday to perform the main ritual of Hajj “Waqoof-e-Arafat”. They listened to the sermon delivered from Masjid-e-Nimra and performed Dhuhr and Asr prayers together. Meanwhile, the annual ritual to change Ghilaf-e-Kaaba was held at Masjid al-Haram on Monday.<\/p>\n

After sunset, they will perform the Maghrib and Isha prayers together and will leave for Muzdalifah where they will stay for a night. After offering Fajr Prayer at Muzdalfa, they will leave for Mina for the remaining Hajj rituals.<\/p>\n

This year pilgrims had to observe social distancing and wear face masks on Mount Arafat. Only 60,000 Saudi citizens and residents aged 18 to 65, who have been fully vaccinated or recovered from the virus and do not suffer from chronic diseases, were selected for the annual pilgrimage. Thousands of face-masked pilgrims performed the annual Hajj pilgrimage to atone for their sins, expressing hopes for peace and an end to the Covid-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n
