{"id":17589,"date":"2020-11-04T11:43:25","date_gmt":"2020-11-04T06:43:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.vosa.tv\/?p=17589"},"modified":"2020-11-04T11:44:46","modified_gmt":"2020-11-04T06:44:46","slug":"women-protest-blasphemous-cartoons-in-pakistan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vosa.tv\/eng\/archives\/17589","title":{"rendered":"Women protest blasphemous cartoons in Pakistan."},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"sticky-top social-left d-none d-sm-block\">\u00a0<i class=\"fab fa-linkedin\"><\/i>\u00a0<i class=\"far fa-envelope\"><\/i> KARACHI, Pakistan,<\/div>\n<div class=\"detay-icerik\">\n<div>\n<p>Hundreds of women marched in the southern port city of Karachi on Tuesday against French President Emmanuel Macron\u2019s anti-Islam remarks, and publication of cartoons insulting the Prophet Muhammad Peace be upon him (PBUH).<\/p>\n<p>The protesters, carrying banners, and placards plastered with word \u201cMuhammad\u201d Prophet Muhammad Peace be upon him (PBUH) in Arabic marched on the city\u2019s main Mohammad Ali Jinnah road.<\/p>\n<p>The rally was organized by the country\u2019s mainstream religious party, Jamaat-e-Islami, which has launched a nationwide campaign against projection of the blasphemous caricatures on government buildings in France.<\/p>\n<p>Addressing the rally via video link, JI chief Senator Siraj-ul-Haq said the recent events involving French authorities have hurt the feelings of millions of Muslims across thee world, who can bear \u201ceverything, except for the blasphemy of Prophet Muhammad.\u201d Prophet Muhammad Peace be upon him (PBUH)<\/p>\n<p>Demanding the expulsion of French ambassador from Pakistan, Haq urged the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to call an urgent meeting to delineate joint strategy on the matter.<\/p>\n<p>He also called for boycotting the French products.<\/p>\n<p>The rally coincides with a rising trend of boycotting the French products in the South Asian nuclear states as dozens of store chains joined the nationwide campaign.<\/p>\n<p>In Karachi, the country\u2019s commercial capital, nearly two dozen major store chains have either removed the French products, mainly fashion and food products, from the shelves or marked them with \u201cnot for sale\u201d tag.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Trade is our bread and butter but the honor of Prophet Muhammad Prophet Muhammad Peace be upon him (PBUH) is above everything,&#8221; Ahmed Hashim Noorani, the owner of Bin Hashim store chain, which pioneered the boycott campaign in Pakistan, told reporters.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Consumer response is positive as well. They themselves are not buying the French products,&#8221; he said, adding that shelves containing French products at all the branches have been sealed with \u201cnot for sale\u201d tag.<\/p>\n<p>Last month, Macron described Islam as &#8220;a religion in crisis&#8221; and announced plans for tougher laws to tackle &#8220;Islamist separatism&#8221; in France.<\/p>\n<p>French Muslims have accused him of trying to repress their religion, and legitimizing Islamophobia.<\/p>\n<p>Turkey has also condemned Macron\u2019s attitude toward Muslims and Islam, with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan saying the French leader needed &#8220;mental health check&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Macron&#8217;s attitude against Islam, the publication of cartoons insulting the Muslim Prophet Muhammad Prophet Muhammad Peace be upon him (PBUH) and their projection on the walls of buildings have triggered boycotts of French products in several countries, including Qatar, Kuwait, Algeria, Sudan, Palestine, and Morocco.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0\u00a0 KARACHI, Pakistan, Hundreds of women marched in the southern port city of Karachi on Tuesday against French President Emmanuel Macron\u2019s anti-Islam remarks, and publication of cartoons insulting the Prophet Muhammad Peace be upon him (PBUH).
