The administration of Indian occupied Kashmir has sealed the offices of a prominent English daily, Kashmir Times, the paper\u2019s executive editor Anuradha Bhasin said in a tweet on Monday night.<\/p>\n
Bhasin said that the administration had sealed the Kashmir Times\u2019 offices in Srinagar \u201cwithout any due process of cancellation and eviction\u201d, just like she herself was evicted from her apartment, which was located in the Jammu region.<\/p>\n
According to Scroll.in, Bhasin had been evicted from her apartment two months ago. In her tweet last night, Bhasin said that her \u201cvaluables were handed over to the \u2018new allottee\u2019\u201d by the Estates Department when she was evicted.<\/p>\n
\u201cVendetta for speaking out! No due process followed. How peevish!\u201d she tweeted. Speaking to Kashmir Reader, Bhasin said: \u201cThere was no technical reason on which the office could have been sealed.<\/p>\n
However, it was due to me speaking up for press freedom. We are going to fight it.\u201d Officials of the Estates Department, however, said that there were two buildings, one of which was the Kashmir Times\u2019 office, while, another was \u201callotted as a residence to Ved Bhasin sahib\u201d, according to Indian media outlets.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
