Atletico Madrid announced the signing of Luis Suarez from La Liga rival Barcelona on Friday.<\/p>\n

\u201cLuis Suarez signed his contract and is officially a Red & White player,\u201d the club said on Twitter.<\/p>\n

The Uruguayan forward is the third all-time leading scorer for Barcelona by scoring 198 goals from 2014 to 2020.<\/p>\n

Suarez helped Barcelona win the 2015 UEFA Champions League title and four La Liga trophies (2015, 2016, 2018 and 2019).<\/p>\n

He also lifted the 2011 Copa America with his nation.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile,\u00a0 Barcelona’s Argentine superstar Lionel Messi on Friday criticized his club about Uruguayan star Luis Suarez’s leave as he thinks that the club board “kicked him out”.<\/p>\n

“You deserved to depart for who you are: one of the most important players in the club’s history, winning things as part of a group and individually. Not for them to kick you out as they have done. But the truth is nothing surprises me anymore,” Messi said on Instagram.<\/p>\n

A pure Barcelona product, Messi last month informed his club that he wanted to leave, but Barcelona did not let him go, refusing his request.<\/p>\n

In addition, La Liga blocked Messi’s free transfer before 2021 and obliged \u20ac700 million ($828.2 million) release fee for an immediate departure, which forced the Argentine forward to stay at Barcelona for a final season.<\/p>\n

Messi renewed his deal with Barcelona in 2017 and his contract is set to conclude on June 30, 2021.<\/p>\n

He is a 10-time Spanish champion and won four UEFA Champions League titles with Barcelona in 2006, 2009, 2011 and 2015.<\/p>\n

The 33-year-old Argentine international put a photo on Instagram taken with Suarez in the Barcelona’s locker room as the Uruguayan forward previously bid farewell to the Spanish club.<\/p>\n

Suarez was a Barcelona forward in 2014-2020 but made his way to Atletico Madrid on Friday. Atletico Madrid signed Suarez as the player sealed contract with the Madrid club.<\/p>\n

The Uruguayan international went down in Barcelona history as he is currently the third top scorer for the club, netting 198 goals.<\/p>\n

He helped Barcelona win the 2015 UEFA Champions League title.<\/p>\n

Suarez was a four-time Spanish champion with Barca (2015, 2016, 2018 and 2019).<\/p>\n

“It will be strange to see you in another shirt and even stranger to play against you,” Messi added.<\/p>\n

“It’s unbelievable how they do things,” Brazilian superstar Neymar\u00a0 now a Paris Saint-Germain player commented on Messi’s post to slam Barcelona board’s attitude against Suarez.<\/p>\n

Neymar played alongside Messi and Suarez at Barcelona as Luis Enrique-led Spanish team made treble, winning the UEFA Champions League, La Liga, and Copa del Rey (Spanish King’s Cup) in the dreamlike 2014-15 season.<\/p>\n

This former Barca trio\u00a0 also known as the MSN (Messi, Suarez, Neymar)\u00a0 was lethal against their opponents for their prolificacy and harmony on the pitch.<\/p>\n
