{"id":15420,"date":"2020-06-28T11:27:10","date_gmt":"2020-06-28T06:27:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.vosa.tv\/?p=15420"},"modified":"2020-06-28T11:34:48","modified_gmt":"2020-06-28T06:34:48","slug":"covid-19-cases-deaths-mount-in-eurasia-central-asia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vosa.tv\/eng\/archives\/15420","title":{"rendered":"COVID-19 cases, deaths mount in Eurasia, Central Asia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>BAKU<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Coronavirus cases and fatalities continued to rise in Eurasian and Central Asian countries on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Azerbaijan<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Azerbaijan reported 521 more COVID-19 cases over the past 24 hours, raising its overall count to 15,890.<\/p>\n<p>The death toll in the country stands at 193, recoveries have reached 8,719, and 6,978 patients are still under treatment.<\/p>\n<p>More than 461,800 tests have been conducted in the country so far.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Belarus<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In Belarus, 382 more infections pushed the total up to 61,095.<\/p>\n<p>The number of recoveries reached 44,126 and the death toll stands at 377.<\/p>\n<p>Nearly 960,000 tests have been conducted in the country so far.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Moldova<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Moldova reported 304 more COVID-19 cases, bringing the total to 16,080.<\/p>\n<p>Six more patients died over the past 24 hours, raising the death toll to 521.<\/p>\n<p>A total of 8,963 people have recovered in the country to date.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tajikistan<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At least 52 more cases in Tajikistan pushed the country\u2019s overall count to 5,799, including 4,391 recoveries, and 52 fatalities.<\/p>\n<p>A total of 1,356 patients are still under treatment in the country, according to the Health Ministry.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Uzbekistan<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In Uzbekistan, 61 more people tested positive for COVID-19, raising the total to 7,551, including 20 deaths and 5,063 recoveries.<\/p>\n<p>A total of 2,468 patients remain under treatment in the Central Asian country, which has carried out over a million tests so far.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kazakhstan<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Kazakhstan\u2019s case count stands at 20,319, including 158 fatalities.<\/p>\n<p>Recoveries in the country went up by by 41 to 12,589.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kyrgyzstan<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In Kyrgyzstan, 4,513 people have tested positive for COVID-19 so far.<\/p>\n<p>A total of 46 patients have died in the country, while 2,212 have recovered.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Worldwide<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Over 495,500 people have died in at least 188 countries and regions since the virus emerged in China last December.<\/p>\n<p>More than 9.86 million cases have been reported worldwide, with recoveries exceeding 4.98 million, according to figures compiled by the US\u2019 Johns Hopkins University.<\/p>\n<p>The US, Brazil, Russia, and India are currently the worst-hit countries in the world.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>BAKU Coronavirus cases and fatalities continued to rise in Eurasian and Central Asian countries on Saturday.
