{"id":14661,"date":"2020-05-21T14:46:09","date_gmt":"2020-05-21T09:46:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.vosa.tv\/?p=14661"},"modified":"2020-05-21T14:49:16","modified_gmt":"2020-05-21T09:49:16","slug":"visitors-to-pay-for-quarantine-as-of-june-in-malaysia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vosa.tv\/eng\/archives\/14661","title":{"rendered":"Visitors to pay for quarantine as of June in Malaysia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>ANKARA<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Malaysia on Thursday announced that those entering the country after June 1 will be charged for a mandatory quarantine.<\/p>\n<p>The visitors will also have to sign a letter for agreeing to pay before they can make the trip to Malaysia, Defense Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMalaysians would pay half of the cost of quarantine services while non-citizens, including spouses and family members of Malaysian citizens, had to bear the full cost,\u201daccording to local news Anadolu news reported.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMalaysia will continue to impose compulsory quarantine on those who return from abroad to prevent the spread of COVID-19,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe signing of the letter can be done at Malaysian embassies and high commissions. After the agreement is signed, the office will also issue a letter permitting them to return to Malaysia,\u201d Yaakob said.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Religious Affairs Minister Zulkifli Mohamad Al-Bakri said Thursday that Malaysia was still waiting for the official announcement from Saudi Arabia on the annual pilgrimage.<\/p>\n<p>He said any decision taken on the pilgrimage to holy cities will be announced after Eid al-Fitr, Muslim holiday marking the end of holy fasting month of Ramadan, the state-run news paper reported.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur response will depend on the statement by Saudi Arabia\u2019s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah. We will also discuss in detail the implementation [of Hajj] if it is allowed or not, the decision will be announced after getting an official reply from Saudi Arabia,\u201d the minister said.<\/p>\n<p>There is uncertainty whether the annual pilgrimage to holy cities by Muslims will take place in 2020 or not because of the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>Malaysia has reported over 7,000 coronavirus cases so far.
