{"id":14637,"date":"2020-05-20T12:51:09","date_gmt":"2020-05-20T07:51:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.vosa.tv\/?p=14637"},"modified":"2020-05-20T13:06:11","modified_gmt":"2020-05-20T08:06:11","slug":"some-1-8m-people-recover-from-covid-19-globally","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vosa.tv\/eng\/archives\/14637","title":{"rendered":"Some 1.8M people recover from COVID-19 globally"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>ISTANBUL<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The global coronavirus recoveries surpassed the 1.8 million mark on Tuesday, according to a running tally by the US-based Johns Hopkins University.<\/p>\n<p>The university&#8217;s data showed a total of 1,801,461 people won the battle against COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus.<\/p>\n<p>The number of cases crossed 4.82 million, while 319,031 deaths were recorded.<\/p>\n<p>The US has the highest number of recoveries with 283,178, followed by Germany with 155,681 and Spain with 150,376.<\/p>\n<p>But the US continues to be the worst-hit country, with the highest numbers of infections and deaths &#8212; over 1.5 million cases and more than 90,000 fatalities.<\/p>\n<p>The UK has the second-highest death toll with 34,876 and Russia is the second country recording the highest cases with 299,941.<\/p>\n<p>China, where the virus emerged in December, has registered a total of 84,063 cases with a death toll of 4,638.<\/p>\n<p>Overall, the virus has spread to 188 countries since it first emerged in China in December.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the rising number of cases, most who contract the virus suffer mild symptoms before making a recovery.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISTANBUL The global coronavirus recoveries surpassed the 1.8 million mark on Tuesday, according to a running tally by the US-based Johns Hopkins University.
