New York: The Islamic Circle of North America and the Muslim Student Association celebrated “Scarf Day” at Bronx Community College in New York.<\/p>\n

Muslim community women distributed scarf to more than 150 Muslim and non-Muslim students in college. Many students wore scarf as they wished.

The students expressed their happiness and said that wearing a scarf made them feel different and protected. Students also learned about the role of women in Islam and talked openly about Islam.<\/p>\n

Speaking on the occasion, newly elected President of the North American African Council, Mosa Darame and a Muslim woman Zainab said, “We want to reduce the distance between different classes through such programs.”<\/p>\n
