The shooter is confirmed dead,&#8221; the Sheriff&#8217;s Office said in a post on Facebook.<\/p>\n<p>At least six injured people were expected at the trauma centre of the Ascension Sacred Heart Hospital Pensacola, spokesman Mike Burke said.<\/p>\n<p>Seven people were being treated at Baptist Hospital, local media reported.<\/p>\n<p>The circumstances of the incident remained unclear.<\/p>\n<p>A statement released by NAS Pensacola said: &#8220;At approximately 0645 this morning, NAS Penascola Security was notified of an active shooter on base.\u00a0NAS Penascola Security and local law enforcement are currently on the scene and are investigating the incident.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Both gates on and off base are currently secured.
