{"id":12116,"date":"2019-11-25T10:34:28","date_gmt":"2019-11-25T05:34:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.vosa.tv\/?p=12116"},"modified":"2019-11-25T10:34:28","modified_gmt":"2019-11-25T05:34:28","slug":"hezbollah-supporters-attack-lebanon-anti-govt-protesters","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vosa.tv\/eng\/archives\/12116","title":{"rendered":"Hezbollah Supporters Attack Lebanon Anti-Govt Protesters"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Supporters of the Hezbollah and Amal movements attacked Lebanese anti-government protesters in Beirut on Monday, with army reinforcements intervening to diffuse tensions.<\/p>\n<p>Shortly before midnight on Sunday, men on foot and scooters arrived at a roadblock set up by anti-graft protesters across a key street in the capital, local television showed.<\/p>\n<p>They shouted insults and chanted in support of the chiefs of the Shi&#8217;ite movements Hezbollah and Amal, before briefly breaking through and attacking some demonstrators.<\/p>\n<p>Those at the roadblock chanted &#8220;peaceful, peaceful&#8221;, as the security forces and army reinforcements deployed in a thick line between both sides in the early hours of Monday morning.<\/p>\n<p>Groups of young men threw stones at each other for hours, with security forces in the middle.<\/p>\n<p>Several people were beaten and injured.
