An\u00a0 autistic \u00a0teen was found in a pool of blood after he was allegedly beaten and knocked unconscious by several students at a\u00a0 Kentucky high school last Thursday, according to local reports.<\/p>\n
Court records say three students followed the victim into a bathroom at Louisville\u2019s Iroquois High School while one stood watch at the door.<\/p>\n
The court records say the students \u201cbeat the victim with their hands and feet until he was knocked unconscious.\u201d<\/p>\n
Emergency responders transferred the victim to an area hospital where he underwent surgery to repair his fractured jaw which had several teeth knocked loose, the sheriff\u2019s deputy said.<\/p>\n
Damon Simmons, 18, has been arrested in connection with the alleged beating.\u00a0He has been charged with second-degree assault and second-degree criminal mischief. Simmons has pleaded not guilty to the charges.<\/p>\n
Court records indicate he is being held at the Louisville Metro Department of Correction on $25,000 bond.<\/p>\n
The other alleged perpetrators, who are juveniles, are facing first-degree wanton endangerment, first-degree unlawful imprisonment, and second-degree assault \u2013 all of which are felonies, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n
The victim\u2019s mother told the station that her son is a 17-year-old senior who \u201cdoes what he\u2019s supposed to do.\u201d<\/p>\n
She said he \u201dis not doing good mentally or physically\u201d since the attack.<\/p>\n
