A Pakistani court has granted three-time former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif bail on medical grounds in a corruption case.<\/p>\n
A two-member bench of the Lahore High Court headed by Justice Ali Baqir ordered to release the former premier in a corruption case against a surety bond of 10 million rupees ($141,048).<\/p>\n
However, Sharif\u2019s bail plea in another case will be heard in Islamabad High Court on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
Jailed former Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif\u00a0 is suffering from a serious immune disorder, his party leaders say, accusing the government of not providing him adequate medical care.<\/p>\n
According to the authorities, Sharif has been suffering from acute Immune Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP), a bleeding disorder in which the immune system destroys platelets.<\/p>\n
“Nawaz Sharif platelets has increased today to 22,000 and now his health improving slowly,” Dr Yasmin Rashid, health minister of Punjab province told reporters.<\/p>\n
Sharif, 69, is being treated at a government-run hospital in the eastern city of Lahore, where medical tests suggest he has a dangerously low count of blood platelets, as told byTalal Chaudhry, a senior leader of Sharif’s PML-N party.<\/p>\n
According to Sharif’s personal physician, the former premier\u2019s blood platelet count fell to \u201ccritically low level\u201d.<\/p>\n
Following the court verdict, Sharif’s youngest brother and opposition leader in the National Assembly thanked the court.<\/p>\n
