{"id":11075,"date":"2019-10-23T12:29:32","date_gmt":"2019-10-23T07:29:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.vosa.tv\/?p=11075"},"modified":"2019-10-23T12:29:32","modified_gmt":"2019-10-23T07:29:32","slug":"white-house-to-cancel-two-newspaper-subscriptions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vosa.tv\/eng\/archives\/11075","title":{"rendered":"White House to Cancel Two Newspaper Subscriptions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The White House said Tuesday it will not renew subscriptions to The New York Times and The Washington Post.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We have no plans to renew them,&#8221; White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham told U.S. news website The Hill, a day after President Donald Trump suggested ending the subscriptions to the newspapers.<\/p>\n<p>The decision comes a day after Trump called The New York Times a &#8220;fake newspaper&#8221; during an interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity broadcast Monday night.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We don&#8217;t even want it in the White House anymore. We&#8217;re going to probably terminate that and The Washington Post,&#8221; Trump said.<\/p>\n<p>His remarks raised questions about whether the White House was planning to expel the newspapers&#8217; reporters.<\/p>\n<p>Trump has repeatedly assailed the Times in particular over its coverage.<\/p>\n<p>In a February tweet, the U.S. president claimed the newspaper\u2019s reporting was \u201cfalse\u201d and accused it of being &#8220;a true ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Washington Post also, but The New York Times even more so treats me unbelievably terribly,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The White House said Tuesday it will not renew subscriptions to The New York Times and The Washington Post. &#8220;We have no plans to renew them,&#8221; White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham told U.S. news website The Hill, a day after President Donald Trump suggested ending the subscriptions to the newspapers.
