{"id":10823,"date":"2019-10-15T11:05:49","date_gmt":"2019-10-15T06:05:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.vosa.tv\/?p=10823"},"modified":"2019-10-15T11:05:49","modified_gmt":"2019-10-15T06:05:49","slug":"india-restores-postpaid-mobile-services-in-kashmir","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vosa.tv\/eng\/archives\/10823","title":{"rendered":"India Restores Postpaid Mobile Services in Kashmir"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>India says it has restored call facilities on post-paid cellphone connections in Indian-administered Kashmir, \u00a072 days after scrapping the state\u2019s special status.<\/p>\n<p>According to government figures, Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir has around 4 million postpaid mobile subscribers.<\/p>\n<p>But\u00a0 the ban on 3 million prepaid phone connections and internet services will\u00a0 continue.<\/p>\n<p>Officials said 80% of landline phones have been working since last month, but many people do not even have landline connections.<\/p>\n<p>People in the valley had mixed reactions after postpaid services were restored.<\/p>\n<p>A resident of Srinagar, requesting anonymity, said the first thing she did was contact her son studying in Uttar Pradesh.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have suffered a lot during the last two months and are still struggling with life. I just want to give the message that the government has made our lives hell.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Another resident of Srinagar, Haroon Ahmed, wants the government to restore internet service in the area.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur businesses have come to a standstill without the internet. One can imagine our condition.
