Mercedes team’s Finnish driver\u00a0 Valtteri Bottas won the Japanese Grand Prix with team-mate Lewis Hamilton third behind Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel, securing a Formula 1 record sixth straight World Championship double for Mercedes.<\/p>\n

Bottas finished first the 52-lap race in Suzuka International Racing Course. He completed the race in one hour, 21 minutes and 46 seconds.<\/p>\n

It breaks the record set by Michael Schumacher and Ferrari from 2000 to 2004, and confirms this Mercedes team as the greatest in F1 history.<\/p>\n

Suzuka is Valtteri Bottas’ third victory of the season – the first two came in March and April<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Briton Hamilton leads Bottas by 64 points and needs to be 78 clear of the Finn to win his sixth drivers’ title at the next race in Mexico.<\/p>\n

Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff said: “It has never been done before and that’s why it feels great.<\/p>\n

Ferrari’s German driver Sebastian Vettel came in second, finishing the Japanese Grand Prix 13.3 seconds behind Bottas. They had 433 points in this year’s Constructor Standings.<\/p>\n

Another Mercedes driver, Lewis Hamilton from the U.K. claimed the third place in Suzuka International Racing Course.<\/p>\n

So both Mercedes drivers Bottas and Hamilton made it to winner’s podium .<\/p>\n
